UPS names new Americas president

By Arielle Kass
Nov 11, 2010

UPS has named its former chief operating officer in Europe, the Middle East and Africa as president of the Americas region.

Romaine Seguin, who has been with UPS for 27 years, will be responsible for Canada, Mexico, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

Seguin replaces Stephen Flowers who will take a leadership role in the UPS Global Freight Forwarding unit.

In her role in Europe, Seguin steered UPS through the challenges faced in April, when the Icelandic volcano eruption shut down air operations across the continent. She helped develop the company's green effort.

Under her leadership, UPS Europe saw double-digit export volume growth through the first three quarters of the year.
