Two more Georgia banks fail

Regulators closed two metro Atlanta banks on Friday, bringing the total number of Georgia bank failures to eight so far this year.

Buford-based Georgia Trust Bank and First Cherokee State Bank in Woodstock were seized and sold to Community & Southern Bank.

Eighty-two Georgia banks have now failed since mid-2008, more than in any other state.
