Atlanta’s newest hotel, the Aloft Atlanta Downtown, opened Thursday, making the brand by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide the company’s first in Georgia.

The 254-room hotel at 300 Spring Street NW, across the street from AmericasMart Building 3, was formerly the Days Inn Atlanta Downtown.

The hotel features loft-like rooms, and customers can bypass the front desk by checking in using their smartphone. The hotel also features 2,500 square feet of meeting space for business and social events, a 24-hour fitness center and a bar with live music, WXYZ.

Starwood’s more than a dozen other hotel brands locally include the Westin Peachtree Plaza, Sheraton Atlanta Hotel, W Atlanta, the St. Regis Atlanta and Le Méridien Atlanta Perimeter.
