A small bank in Meriwether County has entered into an order with state and federal regulators to improve operations.

Woodbury-based Woodbury Banking Co. agreed to the “consent order,” which calls on the bank to improve its lending practices and other operational overhauls. The bank’s board adopted the order without admitting or denying any wrongdoing or violations of banking law.

The order was signed last month and made public on Friday by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

Consent orders are regulatory censures designed to improve the health of a bank.

Most of Georgia’s banks are under some form of regulatory order to improve operations.

A bank representative said no one was available to comment about the order.
