Atlanta-based Manheim, a global vehicle auction company, announced Wednesday the creation of a separate auction company focused on independent dealers and low-end vehicles.

Go Auto Exchange LLC, which will be based in Atlanta, is a new joint venture between Manheim and DriveTime, the nation’s largest subprime credit used car dealer.

Tim Janego, most recently a regional vice president for Manheim’s East Region, will serve as president of Go Auto Exchange. The company will have locations in Atlanta and Phoenix initially, before expanding to other markets next year.

Manheim is owned by Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises Inc., whose holdings include The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
