Kroger’s Atlanta Division and United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 1996, representing grocery workers in metro Atlanta and Savannah, have ratified new labor agreements.

The contracts cover 23,598 workers in 163 stores in metro Atlanta and 12 stores in Savannah.

Division President Bruce Lucia said the agreements include wage increases, and cover health care and the company’s pension.

UFCW Local 1996 President Steve Lomax, in a notice to union members, said workers covered by the agreements approved them this week by an overwhelming majority.
