Home Depot will have a new president in Canada at the end of the month.

Aaron Carmack, the regional vice president of the Pac North region in the U.S., is replacing Annette Verschuren, who has been in the role since March 1996.

Verschuren will stay with Home Depot until Jan. 30. She grew the country to 179 stores, from 19.

Carmack has been with Home Depot since 2003 and oversees the performance of more than 100 stores in northern California, Nevada and Utah. He has worked for Midas International and Sears.

"Aaron has been a consistent high-performing regional vice president for the past several years," Home Depot chairman and CEO Frank Blake said in a statement. "His proven record of success, coupled with his leadership ability, makes him an ideal fit to lead our Canadian division."
