A Hartsfield-Jackson International job fair attracted more than 2,200 job seekers Tuesday, with more than 60 employers at the airport hiring.

Brentavious Carreker, of College Park, works as a chef but went to the job fair at the Georgia International Convention Center near the airport in search of "better opportunities and getting more money."

Joyce Simpson, a retired postal worker who lives in East Point, attended the job fair pursuing part-time work.

She retired in 2009 after a 25-year career with the postal service, and said she is “just kind of piddling around during the day and could use the extra money.”

After retiring, Simpson spent a few years working as an airport shuttle driver. "I really enjoyed that shuttle driving, because you get to meet all kinds of people — nationalities, walks of life," Simpson said.
