Companies compete for final airport shops contract

Jan 12, 2012

Three companies are competing for the final contract to operate shops at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Georgia Airport Concessions, HMSHost and City Souvenir & Gifts submitted proposals seeking a contract to operate shops on Concourse T. The deadline to submit proposals was Wednesday afternoon.

The contract for Concourse T shops is the final one among 12 contracts the city of Atlanta is awarding in a massive revamp of its restaurants and shops. The city already approved the other 11 contracts earlier this month, and released documents on those contract awards this week. Some companies have already filed administrative protests of the contract decisions. The city rejected all of those protests, but the companies have the right to appeal or sue.
