While many chain restaurants are rushing to add the bacon to everything, one is dropping it.

Chipotle Mexican Grill is phasing bacon out of its pinto beans, according to the website Consumerist.

“We are phasing in a new bacon-less pinto bean recipe around the country. In testing some recipes, we simply didn’t think the bacon added anything and, by removing it, we make the pinto beans vegetarian,” a spokesman reportedly told the website.

The move away from swine-flavored pinto beans is sure to please vegan and vegetarian Chipotle lovers.

In an episode dubbed Porkgate by some, Chipolte drew fire two years back for not disclosing on its in-store menu that its pinto beans were flavored with bacon.

The black beans were already vegan.
