Athens-based Barberitos Franchising Inc. said sales are growing this year at its southwestern cantinas, and the company is adding locations.

Barberitos has 22 locations in four states, serving burritos, quesadillas, tacos, salads, and nachos. Sales at stores open at least a year rose 3.1 percent in the second quarter compared to the same period a year before. Barberitos also added two locations in the last ten months. The franchise company's first metro Atlanta location opened in Roswell in December 2009, and a second restaurant opened in  Savannah in May. System-wide sales have increased 9.5 percent from the same period a year ago, with 80 percent of locations seeing increases, according to the company.
