Two Atlanta accounting firms combined forces last week to create one of the largest locally-based  firms in the metro area.

Windham Brannon and Tarpley & Underwood have merged and the combined company will be known as Windham Brannon P.C. CPAs.

The new Windham Brannon has 148 employees, including 66 certified public accountants, and the combined firm will keep its locations at The Peachtree in Midtown and Dunwoody’s Three Ravinia “through the current tax season,” Windham Brannon CEO Charles L. McGimsey said in a news release. No jobs will be eliminated as a result of the merger.

“Windham Brannon has strengthened some key practice areas, and the clients of both firms will benefit from more resources and expanded capabilities,” said McGimsey, who will remain the CEO of the merged firm. Windham Brannon was founded in 1957. Tarpley & Underwood was founded in 1978.
