A second man has been arrested in an Atlanta home invasion that ended with the resident jumping from his balcony and dying, police said Thursday.

Mark Spencer, 20, was arrested Feb. 2 and charged with murder in the December 2015 death of Jose Greer, police said. He was taken to the Fulton County Jail.

Greer, 51, called 911 to report that men were kicking in the door at his Oak Street home. A few seconds later, he went over the railing of his third-story balcony and landed on the concrete 30 feet below, Maj. Adam Lee said.

“He jumped in fear of his safety,” Lee said.

Greer suffered multiple fractures and died during surgery six hours later at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Authorities later released surveillance video of three men suspected of kicking in the door of Greer’s home.

Surveillance video of a man who tried to use Greer’s bank card at a fast food restaurant surfaced and provided additional clues for police.

Last month, U.S. Marshals arrested Lilche Stafford in Denver, police said. The Atlanta-area suspect was charged with one count of felony murder and burglary.
