On a day that was to mark the opening of his Georgia campaign headquarters, Herman Cain instead announced to supporters that he was stepping back from his bid for the White House.

Less than a week after a woman from Atlanta publicly accused Cain of carrying on a 13-year extramarital affair with her, Cain told backers that it was time to put his campaign on hold.

"As of today, with a lot of prayer and soul searching, I am suspending my presidential campaign," Cain said, vowing not to be silenced about politics in the future.

What do you think of Cain's decision, and what impact will it have on the GOP race for the White House?
