Every Sunday, the AJC releases its top 10 polls for both boys and girls. Here's a rundown of those teams and where they're at at this point in the season.

Boys

1. Woodville-Tompkins (16-0)

Region record: 5-0 in Region 2 (first place)

Notes: The Wolverines have opened the season on a win streak and went 2-0 last week with a 60-41 region win over Bacon County before traveling the next day to Charleston, S.C., where they beat First Baptist School (Charleston), 67-65, in the Phenom Low Country Showcase. On deck this week are two region games staring Wednesday at Bryan County (0-14, 0-6), then Friday against Jeff Davis (12-5, 4-2). On Saturday they have a non-region affair with AAAAAA’s Effingham County (3-14).

2. Therrell (12-5)

Region record: 6-0 in Region 6 (first place)

Notes: Last week, the Panthers beat Evangelical Christian (Cordova, Tenn.) 58-53 and Class AAAAAAAA's No. 8 East Coweta 63-61. They play region opponents this week in McNair (2-11, 1-6) and B.E.S.T. (0-15, 0-7) this week.

3. South Atlanta (11-4)

Region record: 6-1 in Region 6 (second place)

Notes: The Hornets took a break after the Christmas holidays and haven't played since Dec. 28, when they lost 78-67 to Northside Christian Academy (Charlotte). They play two games this week starting Friday with McNair (2-11, 1-6), followed by AAAAA's Carver (6-8).

4. Vidalia (15-2)

Region record: 4-2 in Region 2 (third place)

Notes: The Indians went 1-1 last week with a 75-46 win over AAA's Appling County and a 72-51 region loss to Swainsboro. They play just once this week, a league game at home against second-place Metter (11-3, 4-1).

5. Thomasville (13-1)

Region record: 1-0 in Region 1 (first place)

Notes: The Bulldogs picked up a league win over Brooks County (69-49) and AAAAA's Thomas County Central (70-57). They play three games this week, starting on Tuesday with AAAA's Cairo (3-10), then two region games against Early County (9-4, 1-0) — the winner could take sole possession of first place — and at Berrien (7-6, 0-0).

6. Butler (10-2)

Region record: 6-2 in Region 4 (second place)

Notes: The Bulldogs beat league rival Hephzibah 64-60 in overtime in their only game last week and play Laney (8-7, 5-3) and AAAA's Burke County (6-5) this week.

7. Elbert County (13-2)

Region record: 5-0 in Region 8 (first place)

Notes: The Blue Devils picked up a pair of region wins over Banks County (60-52) and Social Circle (60-39). This week, they play three games, two against region opponents — Putnam County (4-11, 2-3) and Monticello (1-14, 1-4) — and another against AAAA's Madison County (5-11).

8. Glenn Hills (14-3)

Region record: 7-1 in Region 4 (first place)

Notes: The Spartans haven't played since Dec. 28, when they beat Dunnellon (Fla.) 52-40 in the Statesboro Gentlemen's Classic. They play three region games this week: Butler (10-2, 6-2), Harlem (3-10, 1-7) and Screven County (1-12, 0-7).

9. Northeast-Macon (12-2)

Region record: 5-0 in Region 3 (first place)

Notes: The Raiders went 2-0 last week with region wins over Dublin (55-44) and No. 10 Washington County (62-61). This week they have region contests against East Laurens (0-12, 0-4) and Bleckley County (10-7, 2-3) before playing AAAA's No. 7 Salem (10-3).

10. Washington County (10-5)

Region record: 4-1 in Region 3 (second place)

Notes: In league play last week, the Golden Hawks beat Southwest 67-41, but lost 62-61 to No. 9 Northeast-Macon. They play one game this week against Dublin (4-6, 3-2) and then take 10 days off.

Girls

1. Dodge County (15-1)

Region record: 6-0 in Region 3 (first place)

Notes: The Lady Indians picked up a pair of league wins over East Laurens (88-80) and Bleckley County (75-50). They play one game this week against Southwest-Macon (11-3, 3-2).

2. Fitzgerald (15-0)

Region record: 1-0 in Region 1 (first place)

Notes: The Lady Purple Hurricane picked up a pair of region wins last week over Coffee (60-57) and Brooks County (72-33) and will play Early County (12-1, 1-0) this week in what could decide sole possession of first place.

3. Laney (13-1)

Region record: 8-0 in Region 4 (first place)

Notes: The Lady Wildcats beat Harlem 71-28 last week and play Jefferson County (8-6, 6-2), Butler (7-8, 5-3) and second place Josey (11-5, 6-1) this week.

4. Bryan County (15-0)

Region record: 8-0 in Region 2 (first place)

Notes: The Lady Wildcats beat Jeff Davis 51-21 last week and play Woodville-Tompkins (13-3, 7-1) this week in what could decide sole possession of first place.

5. Rabun County (13-1) 

Region record: 5-0 in Region 8 (first place)

Notes: The Lady Wildcats went 3-0 last week, with wins over Franklin, N.C. (61-47) and 8-AA's Union County (70-54) and Monticello (57-46). They play three more games this week: Social Circle (5-7, 0-4), Putnam County (10-4, 4-1) in what could decide sole possession of first place, and Sylva, N.C.'s Smoky Mountain (6-5).

6. Swainsboro (10-2)

Region record: 5-1 in Region 2 (third place)

Notes: Last week, the Lady Tigers picked up a league win over Vidalia (42-28) before beating AAAA's No. 6 Statesboro 69-62. This week they play league games against Metter (5-9, 1-6), Toombs County (8-5, 4-4) and St. Vincent's (5-9, 2-6).

7. Early County (12-1)

Region record: 1-0 in Region 1 (first place)

Notes: Last week the Lady Bobcats beat A-Public's No. 4 Calhoun County (52-25) and Randolph-Clay (69-13). They play three games this week: A-Public's Miller County (3-4) and league opponents No. 10 Thomasville (11-4, 1-0) and No. 2 Fitzgerald (15-0, 1-0) in a week that could provide a clear picture of who's who in Region 1.

8. Washington County (12-3)

Region record: 3-2 (second place)

Notes: Last week, the Lady Golden Hawks picked up a pair of league wins over Southwest-Macon (45-35) and Northeast-Macon (63-34). This week they play region opponent Dublin (2-7, 1-4).

9. Banks County (13-3)

Region record: 3-2 in Region 8 (third place)

Notes: The Lady Leopards last week beat league rivals Elbert County (43-37) and Oglethorpe County (89-13). This week they play two more region rivals in Union County (9-5, 3-2) and Social Circle (5-7, 0-4).

10. Thomasville (11-4)

Region record: 1-0 in Region 1 (first place)

Notes: Last week, the Lady Bulldogs beat league rival Brooks County (51-23) and AAAAA's Thomas County Central (53-28). They play three games this week, starting with AAAA's Cairo (5-8), followed by league opponents, starting with No. 7 Early County (12-1, 1-0) and then Berrien (6-7, 0-0).
