Oglethorpe County hires football coach

Oglethorpe County approved Wildwood (Fla.) head coach Jimbo Hale as its new coach on Tuesday at a board of education meeting, according to the Athens Banner-Herald.

Hale will replace Larry Milligan, who was 14-36 in five seasons at a school that has not had a winning season since 2005.

Hale also was head coach for one season at Covenant Academy in Macon.
