Baldwin clinched Region 3-AAAA last week with a stunning 30-7 victory over previous No. 9 Burke County. Baldwin coach Jesse Hicks, in his second season, got the Braves their first region title since 2009 - Hicks' final year of his first tenure with the Milledgeville school. Hicks became the 14th coach in GHSA history to win region titles in separate stints at the same school. Note that Larry Milligan is positioned to become the 15th this year. In his first season back at Greene County, he has led the Tigers to a subregion title in Region 7-A and will play Tattnall Square for the region championship next week. Greene last won a region title in 2005 during Milligan's first tenure in Greensboro.
