The Lassiter boys won the Cobb County Invitational for the first time since 2010.

The Trojans were tied with Walton after the first day, but ease ahead on the second day to win by two shots. Lassiter shot a 298, with Walton just behind at 300 at the Marietta City Club. Teams played nine holes each day.

Lassiter’s young lineup got a 72 from freshman Jack Shade and pair of 73s from Jack Hudson and Sam Tandy.

Walton got a 74 from Matthew Giesler, a 76 from Tripp Morris and a 77s from Matthew Feste and Cole Michalek.

Marietta’s Mac Thompson was medalist, shooting a 67. North Cobb Christian’s Robert Howard finished second with a 70.

Defending tournament champion Mount Paran finished third at 303, with Hillgrove placing fourth at 314.

Columbus wins Georgia-South Carolina Invitational

Columbus defeated Lambert by four shots in the Georgia-South Carolina High School Invitational at River Falls Plantation in Duncan, S.C.

With Mill Creek finishing third, Georgia was able to retain the title over South Carolina.

Columbus was led by medalist Jonathan Parker, who shot 71-75 to win by a shot. Cody Transou of Gaffney won a four-way playoff for second place, beating Ben Carr and Nolan Miller of Columbus and Luka Karaulic of Mill Creek.

Pickens boys, Union girls win King and Queen: The Pickens boy finished first and the girls were second at the King and Queen of 515 Tournament played at Bent Tree. Matthew Campbell was medalist with an 82 and the boys posted a 348 team total. Fannin County second at 376. Union County shot a 152 and won the girls division, with Misty Rowe shooting a 47.
