Georgia State Stadium, the new site for the GHSA's football state championship games, has added three more high school games to its 2019 schedule.

The Great Atlanta Bash, a triple-header involving five Atlanta schools and one from Douglas County, will take place at Georgia State on Sept. 21, it was announced Tuesday. The games will be broadcast on Atlanta’s Peachtree TV.

The schedule will have South Atlanta vs. Washington (10 a.m.), Jackson vs. Carver (12:40 p.m.) and Mays vs. New Manchester (3:20 p.m.).

Atlanta Public Schools athletics director Jasper Jewell calls the Bash “a celebration of Atlanta Public Schools’’ and said he hopes to include all 10 Atlanta public schools eventually. New Manchester is the only non-Atlanta participant.

Atlanta schools have played as part of multi-game events on neutral sites going back some 10 years, with many of those played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium or the now-demolished Georgia Dome.

Georgia State has courted high school games since buying the former Turner Field and converting it to a football stadium. Two Corky Kell Classic games were played at Georgia State last year. Citing costs, the GHSA opted out of Mercedes-Benz Stadium and picked Georgia State for the state finals last month.
