Johnson senior Fabian Abarca became the program's all-time leading scorer with a four-goal performance against Lakeview Academy on Tuesday, according to the Gainesville Times.

Abarca had 104 career goals, heading into Friday’s non-region match against Collins Hill. The program’s previous scoring record was held by Francisco Arellano and set in 2005, according to the Times.

The Knights are unbeaten at 15-0-1 and ranked No. 1 in Class AAAA.

Brookwood defeats Parkview, former coach for region title   

Brookwood came from behind to defeat rival Parkview and win the Region 8-AAAAAA title Friday at the Broncos’ pitch.

Parkview is coached by former Brookwood coach Daniel Klinect, who led the Broncos to the 2014 state championship. Klinect is in his first year as Parkview’s coach.

Broncos' keeper Mitch Barry came up with two saves on penalty kicks to seal the win, the Gwinnett Daily Post reported.

4-AAA Region Tourney

Blessed Trinity defeated Maynard Jackson (9-1) and Westminster (2-1) to win the Region 4-AAA last week. Westminster knocked off top-ranked Decatur to reach the region tournament final.
