Atlanta's winter weather is impacting the high school basketball playoffs. Region tournaments were expected to get underway today, but some games have already been cancelled, and the GHSA has pushed back the start of the state tournament.

We will post updates for Class AAAA as they become available here.

Friday

--The Region 4-AAAA boys and girls basketball tournaments will resume Saturday and finish up on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Updated schedule. 

Thursday

--Region 5, 6 and 7-AAAA schedules are up to date, as of 6 p.m. Thursday.

Tuesday

--Today's, Wednesday's and Thursday's Region 4-AAAA tournament games have all be cancelled, according to Woodland (Strockbridge) head boys coach David Brice.

Monday

-Region 8-AAAA Tuesday boys action is postponed until further notice. -- Stephen Black, Score Atlanta.

-Region 2-AAAA: All Tuesday games will now start 30 minutes earlier. Here is the updated schedule. -- Stephen Black, Score Atlanta

--Region 6-AAAA: The start of the Region 6-AAAA basketball tournament has been postponed until Friday. Games will begin Friday at Marist (girls) and Columbia. Following Friday’s first-round action, the second round and semifinals will be held in a morning-evening format Saturday beginning at both sites at 10 a.m. After a break following the final games, which are scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m., there will be a break followed by the semifinals, which begin at 6 p.m. -- Stephen Black, Score Atlanta

--Region 4-AAAA: The two games scheduled for today have been moved up two hours. The girls game between North Clayton and Locust Grove will tip at 4 p.m. The Griffin-Locust Grove boys game will follow.

--Region 7-AAAA games scheduled today at Cass have been cancelled. In boys action, Cedartown was to play Heritage at 5:30 p.m., and Southeast Whitfield was to play host Cass.

--Regions 1, 2 and 3-AAAA are not adjusting their tournament schedules as of Monday afternoon.
