They went three extra holes, but no one could break the tie at the DeKalb County Golf Championships at the Sugar Creek Golf Course. That left Dunwoody and Arabia Mountain tied at 316 and co-champions.

Dunwoody, which had won the county title for five straight years, was led by freshman Will Bentson with a 77 and senior Raul Oviedo with a 78. Corey Sullivan shot 71 and Lain Barclay added an 82 for the Wildcats.

Arabia Mountain was led by senior Darius Davis, who shot 74 to finish second overall. Freshmen Noah Kuranga and Nylan Washington hat 76 and 78 and senior Miles Bizzle rounded out the team scoring with a 90.

Cameron Wyatt, a sophomore from M.L. King, shot even-par 71 to earn medalist honors.

Girls golf: Dunwoody wins DeKalb title

Dunwoody broke Lakeside’s two-year reign as DeKalb County champion by prevailing at Sugar Creek. The Wildcats shot a 223 to finish first, as Lauren Callahan shot 105 and Olivia Vergura shot 118. Callahan was fourth and Vergura was sixth among individuals.

Mariah Kuranga of Arabia Mountain became a three-time county champion by shooting 83. Her sister, Sarah, was also a three-time winner. Kayla McClendon of Chamblee was runner-up for the second straight year. Sabontu Ahmado of Redan finished in third. …

Brookwood remained undefeated by handling Johns Creek its second loss of the season. The Broncos prevailed with a 4-1 win in Snellville.
