Twelve Georgia football-playing schools changed classifications in the offseason. In 2016, the GHSA adopted a four-year classification cycle instead of the traditional two years. That means full reclassification now takes place every four years with a mid-cycle adjustment in between for schools experiencing major enrollment changes. Full reclassification will take place in 2020.
