Round 1 of the AA playoffs is nearly in the books after last night’s slate, which included miserable weather throughout the state.

There’s one game left to be played on Saturday: The Elbert County Blue Devils (6-4), the No. 3 seed from Region 8, will play on the road against the Douglass Astros (9-1), the No. 2 seed from Region 6.

There were no upsets or major shakeups on Friday. The teams that were supposed to win took care of business — some in blowout fashion. To this point, all of my predictions have played out and I will discuss that further — and provide big-picture analysis of Round 1 — in Tuesday's blog.

Here’s a look at the rest of Friday’s action:

Upper left quadrant

  • The Vidalia Indians (7-3), the No. 4 seed from Region 2, lost 20-3 on the road against the Jefferson County Warriors (8-2), the No. 1 seed from Region 4. Southeast Georgia Today has details.
  • The Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane (7-3), the No. 3 seed from Region 1, won 30-12 on the road against the No. 8 Bleckley County Royals (7-3), the No. 2 seed from Region 3.
  • The Chattooga Indians (5-5), the No. 4 seed from Region 7,  lost 54-7 on the road against the No. 3 Callaway Cavaliers (9-1), the No. 1 seed from Region 5. Kevin Eckleberry has the story for The LaGrange Daily News.

Lower left quadrant

  • The South Atlanta Hornets (7-3), the No. 3 seed from Region 6, lost 19-15 on the road against the No. 10 Union County Panthers (9-1), the No. 2 seed from Region 8. Jeff Hart has the story for AccessWDUN.
  • The Screven County Gamecocks (7-3), the No. 4 seed from Region 4, lost 27-19 on the road against the No. 9 Metter Tigers (9-1), the No. 1 seed from Region 2. It was the Tigers' first playoff win since 2003, when they reached the quarterfinals.
  • The Washington County Golden Hawks (7-3), the No. 3 seed from Region 3, lost 42-14 on the road against the No. 7 Brooks County Trojans (6-4), the No. 2 seed from Region 1.
  • The Temple Tigers (6-4), the No. 4 seed from Region 5, lost 24-7 on the road to the top-ranked Rockmart Yellow Jackets (10-0), the No. 1 seed from Region 7. Kevin Myrick has the story for the Rome News-Tribune.

  • The Hephzibah Rebels (7-2), the No. 3 seed from Region 4, lost 37-34 on the road against the Toombs County Bulldogs (8-2), the No. 2 seed from Region 2. ToombsNow has the story.
  • The B.E.S.T. Academy Eagles (4-6), the No. 4 seed from Region 6, lost 38-0 on the road against the No. 2 Rabun County Wildcats (10-0), the No. 1 seed from Region 8. Blitz has complete coverage.
  • The defending state champion Heard County Braves (4-6), the No. 3 seed from Region 5, lost 27-7 on the road against the Pepperell Dragons (8-2), the No. 2 seed from Region 7.
