Every Sunday, the AJC releases its top 10 polls for the boys and girls. Here's a rundown of those teams and where they are at this point in the season.

Boys

1. Woodville-Tompkins (19-0)

Region record: 7-0 in Region 2 (first place)

Notes: The Wolverines barreled through two 2-AA opponents, beating Bryan County (83-32), Jeff Davis (67-42) before capping the week with a 70-32 win over AAAAAA's Effingham County. They'll have the chance to flex league superiority this week with matchups against second-place Vidalia (17-2, 6-2), which is ranked No. 4, and third-place Swainsboro (10-7, 6-2).

2. Therrell (14-5)

Region record: 8-0 in Region 6 (first place)

Notes: The Panthers went 2-0 against league opponents McNair (80-61) and B.E.S.T. (80-40) last week and play KIPP (9-9, 6-3) and Washington (3-17, 2-7) this week.

3. South Atlanta (14-4) 

Region record: 8-1 in Region 6 (second place)

Notes: The Hornets went 3-0 last week, with two wins coming against region opponents Hapeville Charter (58-28) and McNair (76-25) and the other coming 81-30 over AAAAA's Carver. This week they play B.E.S.T. (0-18, 0-9) and KIPP (9-9, 6-3).

4. Vidalia (17-2)

Region record: 6-2 in Region 2 (second place)

Notes: The Indians posted a pair of wins over Toombs County (60-16) and Metter (80-50) last week. This week, they play bottom-feeder Bacon County (2-11, 0-7) before the ultimate test in No. 1 Woodville-Tompkins (19-0, 7-0).

5. Glenn Hills (17-3)

Region record: 10-1 in Region 4 (first place)

Notes: The Spartans racked up three region wins last week over No. 6 Butler (71-68), Harlem (81-47) and Screven County (74-29). They play one game this week against Jefferson Count (5-11, 3-7). They are led by juniors Emmanuel Jones (21.2 points) and John Whitehead (20.1 points, 8.6 rebounds).

6. Butler (12-3)

Region record: 7-3 in Region 4 (second place)

Notes: The Bulldogs rebounded from a 71-68 loss to No. 5 Glenn Hills to start the week with wins over Laney (70-66) and AAAA's Burke County (69-56). This week they play Harlem (3-11, 1-8) and host a rematch against Burke County (6-8). Senior Jyheem Rollins leads the team with 19.3 points and 8.9 boards.

7. Elbert County (16-2)

Region record: 7-0 in Region 7 (first place)

Notes: The Blue Devils beat region opponents Putnam County (49-35) and Monticello (62-22) before besting AAAA's Madison County (67-53). This week they play two league contests against Union County (11-6, 4-3) and Oglethorpe County (2-14, 1-6).

8. Northeast-Macon (14-3)

Region record: 7-0 in Region 3 (first place)

Notes: The Raiders beat league rivals East Laurens (68-33) and Bleckley County (56-45) but lost 68-61 to AAAA's then-No. 7 Salem. This week they play Dodge County (6-11, 1-6) and Southwest-Macon (7-9, 4-3) before hosting AAA's No. 10 Central-Macon (14-3). The Raiders are led by senior Darius Dunn (17.8 points, 6.7 rebounds) and Carmone Cherry (14.9 points, 6.2 rebounds).

9. Thomasville (15-2) 

Region record: 2-1 in Region 1 (second place)

Notes: The Bulldogs went 2-1 last week with wins over Cairo (65-50) and Early County (70-67) and an upset 58-53 loss to unranked Berrien, which put Berrien atop the league at 2-0 (10-6 overall). This week they play Fitzgerald (2-18, 0-3) and AAAAA's Thomas County Central (3-13). The Bulldogs are led by senior Vonterius Woolbright (21.3 points, 6.7 assists, 1.3 steals).

10. Washington County (11-5)

Region record: 5-1 in Region 3 (second place)

Notes: The Golden Hawks played just one game last week, beating Dublin 64-44. They play three times this week, including league opponents East Laurens (2-14, 1-6) and Bleckley County (10-9, 2-5), followed by Baldwin (11-6). They are led by senior Jamarius Dixon, the team's only double-digit scorer with averages of 14.1 points and a team-high 7.1 rebounds.

Girls

1. Dodge County (16-1)

Region record: 7-0 in Region 3 (first place)

Notes: The Lady Indians posted a 67-63 win over Southwest-Macon in their only game last week, with Destanee Wright's 28 points leading the way. They play region opponents Northeast-Macon (16-1, 7-0) and Dublin (2-10, 1-5) this week. Wright averages 21.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.9 steals on the year, followed by Europe Brown (18 points, 3.1 steals).

2. Fitzgerald (17-0)

Region record: 3-0 in Region 1 (first place)

Notes: The Lady Purple Hurricane racked up region road wins over Berrien (69-28) and No. 7 Early County (62-60) last week. They'll play Thomasville (13-5, 2-1) and Brooks County (5-11, 0-3) this week. They are led by junior Trinity Jones (20.3 points per game).

3. Laney (17-1)

Region record: 11-0 in Region 4 (first place)

Notes: The Lady Wildcats went 3-0 last week against league competition, defeating Jefferson County (69-46), Butler (69-47) and Josey (60-57). They play AAAA's Burke County (8-6) and region opponent Screven County (8-8, 4-6) this week. Senior Jaiden Hamilton leads the team with averages of 15.3 points, 6.1 boards and 4.4 dimes.

4. Bryan County (18-0)

Region record: 10-0 in Region 2 (first place)

Notes: The Lady Redskins beat league rivals Woodville-Tompkins (68-48), Bacon County (69-23) and A-Private's Claxton (71-42). They play two more region opponents this week in Metter (6-10, 2-7) and Toombs County (9-6, 5-5). Olonna Rawls, a junior, leads the team with 24.7 points and 2.9 steals.

5. Rabun County (16-1)

Region record: 7-0 in Region 8 (first place)

Notes: The Lady Wildcats beat 8-AA's Social Circle (69-26) and Putnam County (74-54) and Sylva, N.C.'s Smoky Mountain (72-61). This week they play region games against Oglethorpe County (0-15, 0-6) and No. 9 Banks County (15-3, 5-2).

6. Swainsboro (13-2)

Region record: 8-1 in Region 2 (second place)

Notes: The Lady Tigers went 3-0 in league play with wins over Metter (83-35), Toombs County (72-38) and St. Vincent's (59-43). They have two region games this week starting with No. 10 Woodville-Tompkins (15-4, 8-2) and Bacon County (0-11, 0-8) before a non-league game at AAA's Liberty County (1-14). Senior Dynesha Brown leads the team with averages of 16.6 points, 9 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 4.2 steals and 1.5 blocks.

7. Early County (14-2)

Region record: 2-1 in Region 1 (second place)

Notes: The Lady Bobcats went 2-1 last week, beating A-Public's Miller County (58-40) and Thomasville (69-54) before falling 62-60 to No. 2 Fitzgerald. Sophomore Makayla Timpson posted an unconventional and difficult-to-obtain triple-double (22 points, 13 rebounds, 10 blocks) in the losing effort. They play A-Public's Terrell County (8-8), Berrien (7-9, 0-2) and A-Public's Seminole County (4-8). On the season, Timpkins is averaging 18 points, 8.2 boards, 2.6 steals and 4.4 blocks.

8. Washington County (13-3)

Region record: 4-2 in Region 3 (second place)

Notes: The Lady Golden Hawks had just one game last week and won it, a 74-41 drubbing of region rival Dublin. This week they play three games, two against league opponents East Laurens (10-4, 4-2) and Bleckley County (5-14, 1-6), and the other against AAAA's Baldwin (12-5). Sophomore Miracle Parker leads the team with averages 18.2 points and 5.9 rebounds.

9. Banks County (15-3)

Region record: 5-2 in Region 8 (tied for second place)

Notes: The Lady Leopards went 2-0 last week in league play with blowout wins over Union County (53-35) and Social Circle (74-24). They have two brutal region games this week, starting with the team they're tied for second place with, Putnam County (11-5, 5-2), and No. 5 Rabun County (16-1, 7-0) and will likely need to beat at least Putnam County to stay in the top 10.

10. Woodville-Tompkins (15-4)

Region record: 8-2 in Region 2 (third place)

Notes: The Lady Wolverines went 2-1 last week, including a blowout loss to No. 4 Bryan County (68-48). They rebounded to beat Jeff Davis (60-31) and AAAAAA's Effingham County (52-49). They play league rivals No. 6 Swainsboro (13-2, 8-1) and Vidalia (8-11, 3-6). Senior Jazmin Grayson is the team's only double-digit scorer, averaging 14.8 points to go with seven rebounds and 3.4 steals.
