In Georgia Tech’s final home game of the season, school legend Joe Hamilton will be honored Saturday for his impending induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Hamiton, the winner of the Davey O’Brien Award in 1999, was voted into the hall in May. The induction ceremony will be Dec. 9 in New York at the annual awards dinner for the National Football Foundation.
Hamilton is now on staff with the Tech football team as a recruiting assistant. He will be the 13th Tech player or coach to be inducted, following Maxie Baughan, Ray Beck, Bobby Davis, Bill Fincher, Buck Flowers, Joe Guyon, George Morris, Larry Morris, Peter Pund, Randy Rhino, Everett Strupper and Pat Swilling, along with coaches William Alexander, Bobby Dodd and John Heisman.
Hamilton’s name was added to the fascia along the east stands of Bobby Dodd Stadium listing the school’s hall of famers.
