Here's a new weekly feature in which I'll try to recap what happened at Georgia Tech last week, and look ahead to what's happening this week:
Looking ahead to Tech vs. Miami
The game will kick off at noon. Georgia Tech was smoked by Clemson 26-7 last Thursday while Miami was off. The Hurricanes are 3-0 with wins against Florida A&M, Florida Atlantic and Appalachian State, not exactly a Murderer’s Row of opponents. But the Hurricanes likely don’t need a confidence boost before playing the Yellow Jackets because they have two things going for them: even when they haven’t been great they’ve been great against Tech, winning six of the past seven, and Mark Richt has also won six of his past seven against Paul Johnson.

Tech recruiting roundup
Colleague JuliaKate Culpepper is handling recruiting for us and she penned these items last week about those players that could become future Yellow Jackets. One more poll, though:
Tech offers Fitzgerald QB James Graham. He is a three-star prospect.
Tech offers point guard Kyle Studivant. He plays at Norcross and also has offers from Auburn and Xavier.
Wendell Carter Jr. has Tech in his final four, but his dad, Wendell Sr., told colleague Ken Sugiura that his son doing so may have been more a courtesy. "I would say right now it's Georgia, Georgia Tech and the top two would be Duke and Harvard. That would be the frontrunners. We're going to throw Georgia and Georgia Tech in just because it's the hometown and we'll take a look at it. You never know."
Tech offers Babatunde Akingbloa, a forward from McEachern who also has an offer from Rutgers.
What’s being written about Miami?
Speaking of recruiting, the Hurricanes aren't the prospect paradise they once were. Well, Miami has taken a step to produce one of those shiny baubles that turn the heads of some of the three- and four-star prospects.
The Hurricanes are building an indoor practice facility with an estimated cost of $34 million. Billionaire Jeffrey Soffer is donating a portion of the money and has asked that the building's name honor his mother, Carol.
