Should Hawks take chance on Jarrett Jack?

Jarrett Jack needs a new team.

The Hawks need another point guard.

What do you think of the Hawks bringing the Georgia Tech product back to Atlanta?

According to a report by The Vertical, the Nets will either trade or waive Jack if a deal can’t be reached before his contract becomes guaranteed on Thursday.

The 32-year-old Jack is coming off a torn ACL that ended his season in January. If healthy and for the right deal, he could be an ideal backup to Dennis Schroder with the team just turning the starting point guard job over to the youngster.

Jack, an 11-year veteran, averaged 12.8 points, 7.4 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 32.1 minutes in 32 games last season before he was injured. A veteran presence with a strong demeanor like Jack behind Schroder could be a perfect fit.

The Hawks currently have only Schroder on their roster at point guard. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Lamar Patterson could play emergency minutes there but the Hawks will need to add a true point guard via trade, free agency or the waiver wire before the season.
