Falcons head coach Mike Smith and his staff will lead the North Team in the Senior Bowl, with practice set to start Monday and the game set for 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.

The North and South team rosters were released today. The rosters will be tweaked leading up to the game.

Baylor guard Cyril Richardson, Missouri defensive end/outside linebacker Michael Sam and Louisville defensive end Marcus Smith are the most celebrated players on the North Roster.

Last season, the Falcons scouted cornerbacks Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford at the Senior Bowl. Before the 2009 draft, they heavily scout safety William Moore at the Senior Bowl.

Richardson in a massive road-grader at 6-foot-5 and 340 pounds. There are questions about his athleticism. He's the No. 1 rated guard in the draft by NFL.Com analyst Bucky Brooks.

The Falcons likely won’t have a shot at Richardson although they have a need for a right guard. The sixth spot is too high to take a guard and he won’t be around when the Falcons pick in the second round.

Sam was the SEC’s defensive player of the year. Sam led the SEC in sacks with 10 1/2 and tackles for loss with 18 during the regular season.

Sam is projected as a second-round pick by NFLDraftScout.com and as the 5th outside linebacker (3-4).

Marcus Smith is projected as a second/third-round pick by NFLDraftScout.com and is the 5th rated defensive end.

Virginia Tech’s Logan Thomas, Clemson’s Tajh Boyd and Miami’s Stephen Morris are the quarterbacks for the North.
