The Federal Aviation Administration said it will soon take applications nationwide from people interested in becoming air traffic controllers.

The FAA will take applications during a short window of time starting July 27. The application window is scheduled to be open until July 31, but the could close earlier if the FAA gets enough applications.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, speak English clearly and generally must be no older than 30 years old -- and must be willing to work anywhere in the United States.

Also required is a combination of three years of education and/or work experience. Applicants will have to pass a medical exam, security investigation and pre-employment tests. Those accepted will be trained at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City.
