Travel app Tripnary says Atlanta is the best big city to fly from, based on having the lowest median fares to the top 30 destinations in a sampling of airline pricing data.
Tripnary, using data from its travel partner Skyscanner, said that makes Atlanta the most travel-friendly of the 10 largest U.S. cities.
It's no surprise that Hartsfield-Jackson International, the world's busiest airport, has plenty of destinations for travelers to choose from.
Hartsfield-Jackson officials have a different way of describing what makes Atlanta travel friendly, often saying that Atlanta is within a two hour flight of 80 percent of the U.S. population.

The top cities with flights for under $300 from Atlanta are Orlando, Chicago, Miami, New York, New Orleans, Denver, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, according to Tripnary's sample of fares across several weekends and holidays in 2016.
Miami has a different distinction, as an airport with 11 top cities to fly to for under $300 -- the most in Tripnary's sample. Miami attracts flights as a popular leisure destination and as a gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean for American Airlines.
