Air France launching Atlanta-to-Pointe-à-Pitre flights

Air France is launching nonstop flights from Atlanta to Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, a French Caribbean island destination.

The French airline will launch twice-weekly flights on 170-seat Airbus A320s from Hartsfield-Jackson to Pointe-à-Pitre starting Nov. 21.

Delta Air Lines has a close partnership with Air France, and both are members of the SkyTeam alliance.

Air France said the new routes are possible due to a fleet expansion and "more intensive use of its aircraft" as part of the company's strategy.

Flights from Atlanta will leave on Wednesdays and Sundays, while return flights will be on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Travelers can also continue on Air France flights from Pointe-à-Pitre to Fort de France, Martinique two days a week and to Cayenne, French Guiana on Wednesdays. Air France has a code-share marketing partnership with Air Antilles, which operates routes to other Caribbean destinations from Pointe-à-Pitre.
