After so many dry days, it may come as a surprise that much of Sunday will be rainy.

Light showers will be passing through North Georgia in the morning, but by the latter half of the day, the chance of rain will pick up. Through much of the rain, the sky will be partly cloudy — a nice change from Saturday’s gray and gloomy sky.

“Not a washout, but will be a little wetter. Expecting to see some scattered rain moving across the area as we get through the end of our weekend,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said.

According to the National Weather Service, parts of North Georgia are experiencing moderate and severe drought conditions. The showers moving in with a front should bring in some much-needed rain.

Temperatures will remain mild and it won’t get quite as chilly overnight due to the cloud cover. We’ll see a low of 58 degrees and a high of 65 degrees. A slight breeze, reaching up to about 10 mph, will remain constant.

By Monday morning, conditions won’t be much different. Rain is expected to continue overnight and stop at about noon. Temperatures will still remain mild, with a low of 53 degrees and a high of 69 degrees. By the time trick-or-treaters are ready to head out, the rain should have already moved past and just left behind a few puddles.

If you’re looking for something to do before Halloween, Jaden Smith and Raury and hosting a music, food and arts festival at Underground Atlanta. The event, which requires a ticket for entry, will feature live music, poetry, fashion, film, performances, food and drinks for an immersive experience.
