Temperatures in Atlanta are expected to be slightly cooler than normal Saturday as humidity levels in the area wane.
A dry front that moves into North Georgia late Friday will push south most of the atmospheric moisture that has caused scattered showers throughout metro Atlanta over much of the past two weeks, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz.
Overnight clouds will push into the region to start the day, but most of the metro area will see sun peeking through the clouds over the course of the late morning and afternoon.

It should be a dry morning with relatively comfortable morning temperatures in the high 60s in Atlanta. Nitz noted that the morning low will dip down to 62 in the northeast Georgia mountains, well below the seasonal average of 72 degrees.
By the afternoon, the temperatures will increase to a moderate high of 86 in Atlanta, slightly lower than the average high this time of year when it hovers around 90 degrees.
There’s a 20% of an isolated afternoon storm happening in areas east and south of downtown Atlanta.
“But the vast majority of us stay dry Saturday with a partly cloudy sky as fairly low humidity is locked in,” Nitz said. “And that’s going to set us up for a nice Sunday as well.”
