The day is ending as it started: breezy and cool.

Expect the same breeze in metro Atlanta on Wednesday, but with warmer temperatures, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Atlanta is expected to reach 53 degrees by late afternoon, Channel 2 Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said. The city reached a high of 45 degrees.

The current temperature is 39, but 8 mph winds are making it feel like 33 degrees.

Winds on  Wednesday should reach between 10 and 20 mph, Burns said.

The trend of cold mornings and mild afternoons is expected to continue, when the forecast low is 28 degrees and the projected high is 53.

The next cold front is expected to arrive Thursday night, when there is a 60 percent chance of rain, Burns said.

“There is a brief window when the (North Georgia) mountains could see light winter precipitation,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said.

The chance for a rain/snow mix returns over the weekend for far North Georgia.

And the cold won’t end there.

“Looks like we’ll see another big blast toward the latter part of next week,” Burns said.
