Sunny and mild weather has returned just in time for the weekend in metro Atlanta.

“We’re going to keep this sunshine through most of the day,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “Clouds are going to increase late, but it’s beautiful.”

Current temps are 65 degrees in Atlanta, 57 in Blairsville and 64 in Griffin.

Meteorologist Brad Nitz has your early Friday evening weather forecast.

The average high for this time of year is 57 degrees, Channel 2 reported. Metro Atlanta surpassed that before 11:20 a.m.

According to the latest forecast, Atlanta will reach a high of 69 degrees. Blairsville will hit 64 and Griffin is expected to reach 70.

However, the metro area won’t be able to get through the weekend without rain, Channel 2 reported.

“The rain comes in tomorrow,” Nitz said.

Scattered showers are expected to start late in the morning and last through Saturday afternoon, according to Channel 2. Most of the metro area will see showers by 1 p.m.

“This rain comes and goes quickly, however,” Nitz said.

After a 61-degree day, clouds and rain Saturday, Atlanta can look forward to a high of 70 degrees Sunday, meteorologists said.
