A cold front is on the way that could bring a wintry mix to far North Georgia on Friday and rain to metro Atlanta through early next week, according to Channel 2 Action News.
The best chance for any snow/rain mix is between 11 p.m. Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday, according to Channel 2.
The highest elevations may have a slight bit of accumulation.
“Even then, it will be brief and light,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “So I don’t expect any impact.”

Another shot of cold air is expected to move in early Sunday and lead to a snow and sleet mix in parts of northeast Georgia.

Only rain is expected in metro Atlanta, where there is a chance of precipitation through next Monday, Channel 2 reported.
“That’s not going to last for long when they come through your area,” Nitz said.
Rain chances remain low through Saturday in metro Atlanta.
Currently, it’s 58 degrees in Atlanta.
