The wet weather has cleared and the sun is shining on all the moms celebrating Mother’s Day this Sunday.

The patchy fog that hung around on Saturday is gone and mostly clear skies are expected the rest of the day.

“Lots of sunshine on the way,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

Temperatures are climbing toward 90 degrees, but won’t hit that high Sunday, Monahan said.

“We’re going to top out around 84 degrees today,” Monahan said.

A warming trend is underway and Monday is expected to be warm, but Tuesday is when Monahan says the metro Atlanta area can feel 90-degrees for the first time since late September.

Currently the temperature in Atlanta is 81 degrees.
