After two days of record highs, metro Atlanta is finally getting a break.

Atlanta reached 83 degrees, its expected high, and the metro area should still see summer-like weather through the weekend, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Friday’s high falls just short of the 86-degree record set in 1954, Channel 2 reported.

The current temperature is 79 degrees.

Saturday should see an 82-degree high, well above the average of 73 this time of year, Channel 2 reported. Sunday shouldn’t be much different.

There is also a 10 percent chance of late Sunday, which could usher in a cold front Monday morning and lower temperatues to the mid-70s.

There is a 30 percent chance of rain Monday.
