A tornado watch is in effect for parts of northwest Georgia until 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
The watch includes Bartow, Carroll, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson, Heard, Murray, Paulding, Polk, Walker and Whitfield counties.
There’s a small chance of isolated rain showers in parts of the state, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist meteorologist Brian Monahan.
The current temperature is 82 degrees and is expected to reach a high of 85 degrees.
“But with that humidity, it’s going to feel like 90 degrees,” Monahan said.
That high temperature will fall as storms become likely on Monday and the high is expected to be almost 10 degrees cooler at 76 degrees.
The storms forecast could affect the morning commute, meteorologist Katie Walls said.
