Metro Atlanta residents are waking up to scattered showers Friday morning, but the rain is expected to clear out ahead of a warm afternoon and weekend.
Friday’s temperature will reach the low 90s, and there should be plenty of sunshine for any outdoor activities, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan.

“Whether it’s your backyard pool, the community pool — anything to keep yourself cool this weekend, you are going to want to do it,” he said.
As temperatures heat up, the chance of showers will decrease, according to the latest forecast. A 40% chance of rain is expected Friday afternoon, but those showers should move out ahead of the first half of the weekend.
“There are a few isolated showers and storms, but not everybody sees rain today,” Monahan said. “By the weekend, we are looking pretty dry across North Georgia.”
