Clouds eventually gave way to sunny skies Friday.

But don’t count on that lasting through the weekend, according to Channel 2 Action News.

“We’re going to stay dry through your Friday evening,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “And then overnight into tomorrow morning, clouds thicken up.”

Light drizzle and mist is expected Saturday, when there is a 40 percent chance of rain.

“If you have outdoor plans, the first half of the day is your greatest opportunity to stay dry,” Nitz said. Showers should pick up by 5 p.m.

Up to one-half inch of light to moderate rain is possible in metro Atlanta, according to Channel 2.

Sunday should get the worst of it. There is a 100 percent chance of showers that day, Channel 2 reported.

But rain won’t lower temps.

Saturday should reach a high of 58, five degrees above average. Sunday should also see highs in the 50s.

Currently, the temperature is 51 degrees in Atlanta, Channel 2 reported. The city reached a high of 57.

The next time Atlanta could see temps in the 20s is Tuesday.
