Atlanta got hot Wednesday, but not 90-degree hot.

Atlanta has reached the 90s just four times this year. By this time last year, the city had recorded 26 days of temps in the 90s.

Rain chances are slim across metro Atlanta, but a few light to moderate showers managed to hit Sandy Springs. Atlanta’s next possibility for rain is Thursday, when a 40 percent chance of showers is expected to enter the metro area about 4 p.m.

The wet weather likely won’t decrease temps, which are expected to reach 90 degrees.

Far North Georgia has faced severe thunderstorms through much of the afternoon, according to Channel 2. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Banks, Bartow, Floyd, Hall, Haralson, Jackson, Paulding and Polk counties. It is set to expire at 6:30 p.m.
