Don’t let the clouds scare you.

The skies are expected to stay dry overnight and rain chances don’t return until Thursday, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The air is comfortable, but moisture in the air is increasing, Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

“I think we’re going to see a surge in the dew points in the next couple of days,” Burns said.

Currently, the temperature is 81 degrees in Atlanta.

“(Notice) some clouds and some sunshine,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said, “but we’re looking generally at a mostly cloudy sky through the afternoon/early evening.”

“And as we head through the evening hours, we keep the cloud cover,” Nitz said. “But we stay dry.”

That’s good news for students walking home from their first day back to school in Barrow, Carroll and Floyd counties as well as four other school districts.

There is a 30 percent chance of rain Thursday. That is expected to increase to 60 percent Friday.
