Pack an umbrella Tuesday.
Although the rain chance for Monday night is less than 10 percent, a cold front will likely mean heavy downpours in less than 24 hours.
“That cold front comes in tomorrow,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “It will bring showers and the risk of some thunderstorms.”
There is an 80 percent chance of rain Tuesday, but temperatures are expected to remain in the low 70s.
Earlier, cloud coverage and wing gusts didn’t stop warming temperatures across the metro area.
Current temps are 63 degrees in Atlanta, 56 in Blairsville and 59 in Griffin. Atlanta reached a high of 71 degrees, about 10 degree higher than average.
Nitz said wind gusts reached 25 mph just after noon in Atlanta. However, the breezy conditions didn’t mean lower temperatures.
Lows should be in the 60s by the evening, Nitz said.
Rain could help wash away the little pollen metro Atlanta has.
Monday’s pollen count is 74 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air, which is slightly lower than Friday’s count of 86, according to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma.
