It was cloudy and unseasonably cool Tuesday afternoon, but “a big warmup” is in the forecast, according to Channel 2 Action News.
“Three days of the gloom and gray,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said. “I think that’s going to be enough.”
According to the latest forecast, temperatures could spike Wednesday afternoon to 76 degrees in Atlanta, 77 in Athens and 78 in LaGrange. That follows a morning low of 50.
“Atlanta will be about 27 degrees warmer in the afternoon than on Monday,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.
Temps are expected to remain in the 70s through Easter. Atlanta could reach highs of 74 Thursday, 70 Friday, 70 Saturday and 73 Sunday, Channel 2 reported.
With the exception of thunderstorms Thursday afternoon into Friday morning, “it’s going to be gorgeous,” Minton said.
It’s currently 56 degrees in Atlanta.
The pollen count dropped from 1,308 particles per cubic meter of air Monday to 801 Tuesday, according to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma.
“This will change as temperatures rise to the mid-70s starting Wednesday,” Minton said.
