"The Persistence of Memory" (1931) by Salvador Dali, is on loan from the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

The Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Fla., contains the largest collection of the Spanish artist's work in the world, including this lobster telephone, created in 1936.

"Metamorphosis of Narcissus", on loan from the Tate Modern in London, is part of the "Dali & Film" exhibit at the Dali Museum. In Greek mythology, Narcissus fell in love with his own reflection and was subsequently immortalized by the Gods as a flower.

"Gala Contemplating the Mediterranean Sea which at Twenty Meters becomes the Portrait of Abraham Lincoln" is one of the works owned by the Salvador Dali Museum.

A "Portrait of Laurence Olivier in the Role of Richard III" (1955) by Salvador Dali is part of the "Dali & Film" exhibit. British film producer Alexander Korda commissioned this portrait to promote Olivier's film of Richard III. Olivier's austere presence oddly recalls Dali's portrait of his own father, made thirty years earlier.

The "Tilted Head Portrait" by photographer Philippe Halsman catches Salvador Dali with his signature pointy moustache and staring bug eyes.
