Relax in 2008: Seven spas within driving distance of metro Atlanta.

The outdoor spa pool is one of the many perks of the Spa at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, N.C. The hotel was built in 1913, and the $44 million spa was added in 2001.

A hot rock treatment is one of many clients can have at the North Carolina spa. The spa houses 26 treatment rooms, offering everything from Vichy showers to basic facials.

Charleston Place Hotel recently completed a $1.4 million renovation, including the installation of a 40,000 gallon, 50-foot heated swimming pool with a retractable glass roof.

Who says spas are only for women? Men can get the royal treatment at the spa at Charleston Place.

The Charleston spa offers the most flexible cancellation policy: treatments canceled within four hours of the scheduled time won't incur charges.

Hydrotherapy is one of the options at the spa at Amelia Island Plantation on Amelia Island, Fla. The spa uses only organic products and focuses on wellness for the whole family, even the dog.

The Meditation Garden is an option before or after your spa treatment. The Amelia Island resort is about 5 hours, 40 minutes from Atlanta.

The Spa at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C., provides basic treatments for guests and is the least expensive of our seven spas. But the Grandover's main draw is its large conference center with two 18-hole championship golf courses.
