St. Simons Island art fest is perfect excuse to visit

The Glynn Art Association's Spring Festival is 10 a.m.-5 p.m. April 12-13 at the oceanfront Neptune Park, in the heart of St. Simons Island village. Admission is free. More than 90 artists will display paintings, pottery, photography and books at the festival, which is in its 15th year.

If you come for the festival, take some time to see the Maritime Museum.

Shrimper Larry Credle recently began catering to the influx of tourists with 90-minute cruises of St. Simons Sound on his 60-foot working shrimp boat.
