Of course, if you're in Miami, you'll want to spend some time on the beach. Miami Beach in on a barrier reef across the Biscayne Bay, and its sandy, sunny beaches from party-hearty South Beach continue all the way up north along the coast of Florida.

Visitors feed Macaw parrots at the newly opened Parrot Jungle Island in Miami. The 18.6-acre attraction on Watson Island is home to more than 3,000 exotic animals and 500 species of plants. The island includes animal stage shows, plant nurseries, jungle trails, a petting farm and educational exhibits.

You can tour the Everglades by airboat in Miami. This tour is great for nature lovers and adventure seekers who want to get a bit more out of their vacation in Miami.

Star Island is an artificial island within Miami Beach. The houses are colossal, and the architecture is worth taking a look at. Most of the houses are gated. The island looks exclusive because there is a guard house; however, it is a public neighborhood and you are able to go on the island and check out the houses. The houses on Star Island are homes to and have been homes to celebrities such as Will Smith, Shaquille O'Neal, Lenny Kravitz, Gloria Estefan, Rosie O'Donnell, Madonna, P. Diddy and more.

Leanne Brady interacts with one of two 9-month old Cheetahs after it was released into a quarantine facility at Zoo Miami. Zoo Miami is the largest and oldest zoological garden in Florida. It houses more than 1,200 wild animals and is a free-range zoo. Its climate allows it to keep a wide variety of animals from Asia, Australia and Africa like no other zoo in the country.

Art Deco buildings grace the famous Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. It is known for its Art Deco hotels. Ocean Drive is also the location of the famed Versace mansion, one of the most photographed houses in North America. The street is the center of the Miami Art Deco District, which is home to about 800 preserved buildings.
